Danielle Bickel joined Deleon Trade as a Senior Trade Auditor in 2026.  She assists clients in preparing for audits and risk assessment meetings, selecting and reviewing statistical samples, perfecting disclosures, identifying compliance risks, and analyzing imports for USMCA eligibility.  She uses her recent experience at U.S. Customs to assist clients in understanding: the needs and concerns of U.S. Customs officials, the procedures U.S. Customs follows and why, what documentation U.S. Customs finds sufficient, and how to formulate effective responses to U.S. Customs inquiries.
 

Before joining Deleon Trade, Danielle served as Senior Auditor, Assistant Field Director, and Field Director for U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Trade Regulatory Audit in Chicago for over 15 years.  As Field Director, Danielle guided the field office through the changing trade landscape in 2025.  During her 7 years as Assistant Field Director, Danielle led a branch of auditors tasked with a variety of customs audits and non-audit services, including focused assessments, EAPA investigations, streamlined audits and risk assessments, and investigations.  As both a supervisor and senior auditor, Danielle developed expertise in the review areas of value, classification, antidumping duties, trade remedies, offsetting, statistical sampling, forced labor, free trade agreements, and airline user fees.  She also provided technical guidance and training to local audit staff, audit staff nationwide, and other customs personnel.  
 

She has successfully completed multiple advanced training courses with U.S. Customs including: Supply Chain Tracing, Streamlined Audit Approach, User Fees/TSAs, Advanced Valuation, Statistical Sampling, Free Trade Agreements, and USMCA.
